Bumper Sticker Survey

I, Fenway Bartholomule, find the Cafepress markup to be dissatisfyingly high. As a clever hay-earning tactic and as a means of making the Muleness more available to you, my loyal and deserving readers, I have come up with a tremendously delightful new plan: I shall buy bumper stickers in bulk and distribute them to you at a price lower than that charged by Cafepress. (Am I a great entrepreneur or what??) I also have t-shirts and calendars evolving, so don't forget to put Ear Gear on your Chanukah/Christmas/Kwanzaa/Solstice/Festivus/Holiday lists!

Here's my question: What do YOU want to bear proudly on your bumper?

1) Mules: half ass and proud of it (with mule image)

2) Hybrids get better grass mileage (with mule image)

3) I ♥ Fenway Bartholomule

4) SHINE (with mule photo)

5) A woman's prayer: "Husband, grant me the permission to buy the mules I can afford, the maturity to refuse the mules I can't afford, and the wisdom to know the difference."

6) Ears to you! (with mule image)

7) I ♥ My Mule

8) Got Muleness?

9) Fenway Loves You (www.BraysOfOurLives.com)

10) May your trails be smooth and scenic. May your hay be fresh and abundant. May your friends be as nice as Fenway Bartholomule. (www.BraysOfOurLives.com)

or . . . . something altogether different?

I think we shall settle on four designs, but please do offer your input as to what they should be and how they should look. Your advice is both valuable and welcome.

Ears to you,
Fenway Bartholomule

  1. I would suggest two bumper stickers, might work with mugs and T's too: 1) "What Would Fenway Do?" and 2) "Diversity: we has it!" showing pix of Fenway, the "mini mule", assorted goats, dogs, pet cows, chickens - however much room might be available on whatever medium of display. I will be ordering a Half-Ass bumper sticker for a friend who has wonderful mules (not of course as wonderful as FenBar but still).

  3. Doc in Delaware reporting in: I like number 2 and number 6. However, man slave doesn't do bumper stickers, he does however like car magnets or those cling-on things that humans put on glass surfaces. Man slave read me my poem today, and I was filled with mulish delight over it, thank you Fenway!

  4. Either "Got Muleness?" or "Fenway Loves You."

But I LOVE "What Would Fenway Do?" and "Diversity..."

I must add that I once had a teeshirt that said, "I Showed My Ass at the American Donkey And Mule Society Festival!"

  5. If you make numbers one and two I'll have to buy a mule just to put them on my car! I loved them! They're hilarious!! Maybe I'll put mule ears on my horse. LOL. I've just recently discovered your blog and have to say it's quickly become my favorite. I've always been fascinated with mules and love the chance to hear about such a great one. Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing more about your adventures.

Here are the Cloud Dog's X-Rays

Here, for your edification, are the X-rays of dear Paisley's leg. There is, apparently, no new break (since his Monday siezure) but there is, of course, a great deal of abnormality caused by years of living with a shortened ulna. His pronounced lameness, the vet says, may temporarily improve. Unlike me, Fenway Bartholomule, poor cloud dog can't expect much in the way of a full recovery.   Not having the $$$$ for surgery to fuse the joint, we are working on making some sort of rigid splint to support the limb and prevent further degeneration. That is, the humans (with their space-age material inventions and their opposable thumbs) are working on making a splint; I am working on giving cloud dog brayful looks of support and encouragement every time he totters into the yard to relieve himself. As always, he fears me (me?!) and keeps his distance.  Ears to you,  Fenway

Saddle fitting nightmare

I wonder if they had to pay a saddle fitter to tell them the Schleese didn't fit. FB http://www.besthorsestuff.com/ShowAd/index.php?id=4deed0d102f85 For Sale: 18 inch Schleese Jes Elite dressage saddle with Flair Air panels.  This saddle is in exceptionally good, like-new condition with the exception of needing repairs to the front left air bag.  Our Schleese saddle fitter (at the May 28, 2011 fitting) quoted the repair cost at $75-$150. The tree is currently set to "wide" and can be fully adjusted by a saddle fitter.  See the Schleese website for more details. Asking $1200 OBO, a significantly reduced price compared to the current market value of $2000 for the same saddle in pristine, like-new condition. NOTE:  The "saddle rack" is not for sale.  Heehee! Please contact us for more details, serial numbers, questions, or pictures of the saddle.  This is very nice, quality, comfortable and correct saddle for a fraction of the cost, even after the r...
